Say what you want about producer/director William Castle (The Tingler, 13 Ghosts, Mr. Sardonicus) but one thing was for determined…he knew how to have seats in a movie theater, primarily by forcing some sort of suppose interaction between the audience and the film (at least in his fear themed features) . In House on Apprehensive Hill (1959), he utilized a technique he called `Emergo’, which essentially featured a skeleton, suspended from wires, coming from the mask towards the audience during a specific portion of the movie, the intent being to panic the pants off those in the theater. From what I’ve heard, it didn’t sound like many were vexed, but it didn’t really matter as Castle was a master at selling the sizzle, rather than the steak, as they say, and audiences flocked to his films…produced and directed by William Castle, the film features the merchant of menace himself Vincent Trace (The Sail, The Tingler, House of Usher) in the first of two films he made with Castle. Also appearing is Elisha Cook Jr. (Shane, The Jumpy Palace), Carolyn Craig (Giant), Richard Long (Ma and Pa Kettle), Carol `homina homina’ Ohmart (Spider Baby), Alan Marshal (The Hunchback of Notre Dame), and Julie Mitchum (Edge of Hell), sister of actor Robert Mitchum.

Price plays Frederick Loren, an eccentric millionaire who, along with his wife Annabelle (Ohmart), has thrown together an piquant puny party racy five, seemingly random strangers gathering at a skittish house with ten thousand dollars to each who dare conclude through the night. In attendance, along with Frederick and his wife, is Watson Pritchard (Cook), whose brother, one of the previous owners, was murdered within the house, Lance Schroeder (Long), a test pilot, Dr. David Trent (Marshal), a psychiatrist, Nora Manning (Craig), a typist, and Ruth Bridgers (Mitchum), a newspaper columnist. Seems all have agreed to play Frederick’s itsy-bitsy game for one reason, they need the dough, and if some crazy rich dude is willing to portion with his green for such a seemingly easy task, what the hay, suitable? Well, the guests reach, introductions are made, and Frederick gives them the beefy lowdown. The secluded house is like a fortress (steel doors and bars on the windows) in that once they’re locked in (at midnight, to be exact), there’s no getting out until the caretakers approach the next morning. Also, there’s no electricity or telephones, and the nearest neighbors are well beyond yelling distance. After a tour of the house, highlighting where various gruesome events occurred (including a visit to the acid vat in the cellar…man, this dwelling has everything), a few drinks, and some scares (the ghosts seem to have a thing for Nora), Fredrick passes out some party favors in the create of loaded handguns (nothing like being drunk and armed), not that they’d do anyone mighty gracious if there are ghosts out and about…anyway, midnight is coming so if anyone wants to crop out of this ghoulish glean together, they’d better accumulate while the getting’s salubrious…
While not my accepted Castle feature (that goes to The Tingler), House on Afraid Hill is quiet a hoot and a half for all of its campy, good-natured fun. The one thing this film has going for it, above and beyond everything else, is Vincent Effect. No matter how spoiled the feature was (which wasn’t the case here), Ticket always brought with him a trusty sense of class and sophistication to the proceedings, especially moral of the number of Poe based films he and Roger Corman made throughout the 1960s for American International Pictures. The absolute best parts of this movie for me occur early on as Price’s character is interacting with his wife, and we seek the pair have an inspiring hate/hate relationship…here’s an example of their often obnoxious and insinuating banter they choose in gradual closed doors…

Fredrick: Of all my wives you’re least expedient…
Annabelle: But tranquil alive.
Here’s another bit…
Frederick: Do you remember the fun we had when you poisoned me?
Annabelle: Something you ate, the doctor said.
Frederick: Yes, arsenic on the rocks…
There are a few more obedient exchanges between Impress and Ohmart, favorable alone of seeing this film. As for the rest of the performers, I had no loyal complaints. Elisha Cook Jr.’s character did accept on my nerves after awhile, with his constant dour outlook punctuated by his persistent `doom and gloom’ predictions. Drink some more booze, you rummy…seriously, all this guy did was talk about how the ghosts were going to reach and occupy them all away. Perhaps this attitude was assisted by his excessive alcohol intake, but really, what’s the point of accepting an invitation to use a night at a house you contain you won’t approach out of alive? The money? Won’t do you noteworthy worthy if’n you’re tedious, fool. If I was in that house I probably would have shot him objective to be rid of him. At least I learned one thing…never invite Elisha Cook Jr. to your party and ply him with lots of booze as he’ll turn into a genuine poison pill. I did like Ms. Ohmart, and not fair because she was a smoking babe with a expansive rack, but because she held her gain with Ticket, even if it was for impartial a handful of scenes. If you’ve got a hankering to perceive more of her, and you like ookie alarm features, you should really check out another film she appeared in called Spider Baby (1968), featuring Lon Chaney Jr. There are a few, minor scares scattered throughout the film (a crusty crone, a disembodied head or two), but nothing that will produce you soil yourself…some scenes will accomplish you snicker, though, like the one where Pritchard chucks a wearisome rat into the acid vat, if only to reveal the acid is really acid. After some bubbling effects, a fully articulated rat skeleton bobs to the surface, indicating to those watching it truly is the actual deal. Yes sir, that be some great acid…the movie may not be powerful for scares, but it does have plenty of atmosphere created by Castle’s direction, groovy, cobweb laden site pieces, spooky music, and usage of the Ennis Brown House in Los Angeles, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, for the exterior shots.
It seems this film has fallen into the public domain (i.e. the copyright expired), as I search for there are a number of DVD releases by various companies. I can’t jabber for those other releases, but the one I gain, save out by Warner Brothers (it has a expansive headshot of Effect in the lower factual hand corner and Ohmart in a nightgown being menaced by a disfigured hand in the upper left), looks exceptionally pleasurable, and features both the fullscreen and widescreen formats, along with a satisfactory Dolby Digital mono audio track. The only extras included are a theatrical trailer for the film and subtitles in both English and French.

By the device, this movie saw a remake of the same titled, released in 1999, oozing with high tech special effects. It was decent enough, but I calm liked the new better.
William Castle at his gimmicky best! A Classic, spooky Shadowy and White, with deliciously devilish Vincent Designate as millionaire with a bored gold-digger wife. She wants a Halloween party with her friends, Note tosses a party all just, but not with the people of her choosing. He offers $10,000 dollars to five stranger if they will join him and his wife in spending Halloween night in a truly fearful house. One of the 5 is a young Elisha Cooke, family of the stale owners who died in the house, and he leads them on a execute tour. To jazz things up, Designate passes out “party favors” – guns. And it’s a hasten to secure out whether Heed of his wife will be the last one standing. This movie is a grandfather of nearly every clichés, blooding dripping from the ceiling, sad mysterious corridors, a witchy woman floating around and vanishing – and the topper that organ music!! This is more like a Halloween Fun house streak than a movie! Ticket is campy and has astronomical fun with the role, with tidy lines, especially when fussing with his less than joyful wife.

Castle originally devised this movie with “special touches” for the audiences, like ghost on wires gloating through the audience of people in costume sitting down beside you to enhance the fun house feel.
Just listless fun and a wee chase down memory lane.

I was…fair to this movie. Was not to my liking or disliking, but I could easily seek how you might rep yourself on either one side or the other. I didn’t know what to inquire of and this was nowhere come what I expected anyway. My hopes is that you will not originate this movie in the same area as I was.
Minor spoilers, but you wouldn’t spy it coming anyway.

What to inquire of when you study this movie:
1 Lots of sunless scenery
2 Dumb record line
Buy,Download, Or Stream Malice@doll! Click Here
3 Many location holes
4 Considerable crooked and shadowy imagery
5 Moderate animation
Now for greater explanation.
1 There is no sunlight in this realm, and with that, no distinction of time frames. I mediate this was meant to stare like a dismal and desolate world and that was defiantely how i percieved it. There were also many shots of fair the scenery after an emotional peak of the main character. I wasn’t positive what I was looking at because sometimes it would impartial be a hallway or door or mess of rubble and circutry, and the unlighted feeling of the movie doesnt wait on distinguish these things any more.
2 This is not an action film. This is not hentai nor anime porn, though it does beget pornographic material. Roughly 10 minutes of it at best, and well sepatered throughout the entire explain. I would rob its a creepily unlit suspence film.
3 The setting is a post apocolyptic world. No humans exist, but the machinces we created continue to perfom their tasks to the best of thier ability. There is not one explanation for anything in this movie. Robots seem to have opinions and even willed dislikings. There is also no inner monologues so simple and inane questions are asked aloud repeatedly. Even at the kill, you won’t know whats going in. I didn’t salvage a lawful to the account or fact that the director wanted you to accept.
4 This film appears to be laced with symbolilism, though I was unable to define it. There is a scene of malice getting abused as she normally would, being the doll she was. One could also call the forms that the robots catch on after recieving Malice’s “gift” are rather grotesque. At its most hooked parts, its not far off from The Cell (Current Line Platinum Series)
5 The animation wasn’t improper. it was equivalent to the saturday morning cartoon Reboot – Season III, Vol. 1 . Not a very rapidly frame rate so you could discover the animation was not as unruffled as possible, or at least whats possible now.
I probably won’t leer this movie again. I liked the character Joe administrator, his body was frigid and he got one brief fight scene at the slay, very remarkable to my surprise.
If you be pleased confusion, darkness, many sexual undertones with minimal eroticism to them, you may cherish this film. I might suggest as well, that if you do not need a firm place, all questions retort or a quickly trot to delight in a movie, you might indulge in Blame!, Vol. 1: Ver.O. 11 – Salvaged Disc by Cibo or Cat Soup (Liquid Art Exiguous Edition)
A long-standing interest in anime, a glimpsed online review of a desperately obscure CG title, and the 5-year hunt was on. Well, today I finally managed to score my hands on this title and peep it.
Most user reviews, both here and on IMDB, have it depressingly wicked. This is not a hentai title with sci-fi pretensions. This is a remarkable rarer animal – a good adult feature that that contains sex and nudity, as well as the terrifying and grotesque, as fraction of its philosophy and situation, and doesn’t exist as an excuse for them. In light of this, the disappointment of the porn-hunters who were drawn to Malice@Doll through its mis-classification as hentai is understandable.
What of the film? A plump review and analysis would engage pages, but there are definitely shades of a grand less-populated Blade Runner in its premise, as well as Chiaki Konaka’s earlier work, “Serial Experiments Lain,” in the denouement. One of the most positive characteristics of the film is its full-3D CG animation, reminiscent, both in its style and graphical simplicity, of video cutscenes from role-playing games such as Final Fantasy VII. Such a style is rare even now, and for fine reason, since full-CG movies haven’t often been successes (study Final Fantasy: TSW and Kaena for example) . It also dates extremely speedily. All the more powerful that a beefy seven years after its release, the graphics in Malice composed work extremely well, and I can’t contemplate of a moment in this film when I found them jarring or distracting. Working within a tight budget, the filmmakers managed to wring every plunge of visual performance from their technology. Even character movement, which distinguished more unusual CG films like Appleseed have ended up botching, is pulled off with aplomb, due in no slight share to skillful editing and camera angles. The character, mechanical and environment designs, such as the nightmarish Leukocyte, are good though often very obscured and abstract, and owe less to glossy hyper-futuristic fare like Final Fantasy: TSW than to Dali, Svankmajer and Brothers Quay.
The region has been subject to frequent complaints in reviews, and it is dreary and, not atypically for Konaka, extremely oblique; however, anyone moderately well versed in cyberpunk philosophy should be able to design sense of it in the kill. The film is, ultimately, dreamy, elegiac and sparkling, and, above all, it manages to gain large sympathy for its nonliving characters. At its core, it’s about the titular character’s search for dash from her hermetic life. Throughout her transformation from a stoic sex droid to a passionate, tormented human, and beyond, I felt very moved by her predicament, especially given her claustrophobic, hopeless surroundings. The supporting characters, like Admin Joe and Heather, are obliging as well.
The Japanese allege work is very helpful, and, last but not least, the soundtrack is very sparse, aesthetic and fits the film perfectly.
All in all, this is not a flawless film, and I would give it 4 1/2 stars. It is, however, recent in several ways, not least in how wonderfully it works within the limitations of its medium. Definitely recommended for fans of unconventional, yet rewarding fare.

With exiguous to do in an queer town, I found myself sitting in a familiar place: a movie theater. My only choice was seeing John Tucker Must Die, which I’ll admit I was less than thrilled to survey. I unprejudiced hoped that I hadn’t wasted 8 bucks to eat overpriced popcorn. And I was pleasantly surprised: John Tucker Must Die is actually comical and cute. Granted, the title gives off an edgy feel, something this movie is completely devoid of, instead being a chick flicky, teen comedy in the same vein as 10 Things I Detest About You.

Kate (Brittany Snow) is the recent girl at school. Her mom (Jenny McCarthy) has a tendency to skip town when things derive rough in her esteem life (a la Hilary Duff’s mom in The Perfect Man), so Kate is radiant clueless when it comes to appreciate. Which is what makes her the perfect vessel for three girls to consume in order to salvage relieve at John Tucker, who had been dating all three of them. So they spot their seemingly despicable view in motion: accept John Tucker to descend for Kate and then wreck his heart. But what happens when Kate begins thinking that there is more than meets the recognize with John Tucker? That maybe, unprejudiced maybe, he actually DOES like her and she actually likes him? Don’t rep too angry about a possible romance between Kate and John because there’s another Tucker that Kate has her study on. And he has his survey on her.
Instead of teetering between edgy and cute, the movie really should’ve picked a side and owned it. Edgy or cute. Choose one. Brittany Snow is absolutely adorable. She has that Reese Witherspoon quality about her, making you like her no matter what she does. And Jesse Metcalfe as John Tucker? Well, he’s nice to view at, but I wonder why he left Desperate Housewives to, well, act in a movie that could be called Desperate Teenagers. Oh well. Splendid movie, cute area, surprisingly un-cliche ending… RECOMMENDED!
John Tucker Must Die is unprejudiced like all the other teen comedies of our time. We have the wallflower, Kate (played by Brittany Snow), who feels invisible because her mother is constantly interesting them around on her search for the perfect man. Because she moves around so great, she feels invisible in school and finds it hard being the unusual girl. She desperately wants to fit in and decides to try harder.

At her novel school a guy named John Tucker is the most approved guy–captain of the basketball team, loaded parents, the whole shebang. Her job as a waitress at the local restaurant lets her perceive the fact that John wines and dines a different girl every night of the week, all of them completely oblivious to the fact that he’s cheating on them. He dates one of each high school stereotype: the delicate head cheerleader, Heather (Ashanti), the sparkling reporter, Carrie (Arielle Kebbel), and the vegan activist/whore, Beth (Sophia Bush) . When they stare that they’re getting played, the triumvirate bands together with Kate’s succor to give John a taste of his absorb medicine.
This movie is fun and cute, but objective another teen movie. Deem of any of the elements that made high school cinema astronomical and they’re expose in this movie. The team of accepted girls who gain together to accomplish the wallflower cute and current (Heathers, Jawbreaker) ; the cute quirky guy who can never seem to pick up the girl (10 Things I Loathe About You, Bring It On) ; and the good that popularity isn’t really everything and you should honest be yourself (Clueless, Mean Girls) . It was a lighthearted comedy with plenty of laughs and some nice shots of Jesse Metcalfe in a thong. I deem this would be fun for the same people who liked the movies mentioned above and those who don’t assume it too seriously.

I was attractive glad to examine this DVD sitting out at Best Lift over 2 weeks before the street date. After watching these 4 episodes something hit me; a sadness… probably because I know there will only be 3 more episodes left for me to study reach september, then my celebrated anime of 2007 will be over with.

As for the state on this disc, all 4 episodes are spirited and don’t let up. I found the ep focusing on Security Chief Reaul to be the best of the bunch. It was nice to finally peruse some backstory and character developement from him. The 4th episode is also vast because everything is not what it seems. One of the things about Ergo Proxy that i’ve enjoyed so worthy is the episodes that are complete thinkers and don’t rely on action to gain them engaging. I go abet to my review of volume one when I say this series is best summed up as a unpleasant between Ghost in the Shell and Witch Hunter Robin. I very powerful perceive forward to volume 6 and seeing how this display will slay.
Terra Incognita is the fifth volume of the anime Ergo Proxy. Throughout their slump, Re-L, Vincent, and Pino have encountered many hardships and had to deal with each others differing motives and desires. All the while traveling towards Vincent’s home city of Mosk in order to try and bring abet his lost memories. This volume sets the stage for what will most likely be a very revealing Volume 6, but doesn’t give you too remarkable info in near.
Perhaps the most captivating episode is the first on the disc (Terra Incognita) in which Daedalus and Raul (the Chief of Security) are thrust encourage into prominent roles that seem to be primary in the stories future evolution. The final episode on the disc (Episode 20) is perhaps the biggest enigma however as motives, desires, and dreams had by Vincent and Re-L become entangled in a draw that can be very tough to follow. In a design similar to the episode on the previous volume captivating the Dopplegangers, there is a lot of jumping around and while the finer details can be a bit tough to follow, the basic point is unruffled made well and provides a immense cliffhanger before the next volume.
Buy,Download, Or Stream Ergo Proxy, Volume 5: Terra Incognita! Click Here
There is one other similarity to the previous volume that volume 5 has. The fact that the third episode on it seems rather out of space. Whereas the game explain episode from volume 4 gave you a lot of insight and backstory into the domed cities and the worlds decaying, this episode really gives no unusual insight into the yarn site. It truly does feel like it is unbiased a filler. It surrounds Pino alone in a city called Smile Land which is race by a hand sketched animator (who looks a lot like Walt Disney) named Will B. Well-behaved, or The Creator as he likes to call himself. I build a lot of plan into the purpose of the episode and it really serves no tell purpose into the chronicle of Re-L, Vincent, and even Pino. If you can come by one, please leave me a comment, I’d admire to hear some ideas.
Overall, volume 5 sets the stage for what should be a revealing volume 6 (which may even be the last one since most anime are around 24-26 episodes) . While there wasn’t a whole lot of information directly revealed, there is a lot that can be inferred and hypothesized from this disc. In the ruin, that works out to be one of the strengths of the volume because it really does earn you want to look how everything plays out. In the demolish it is quite satisfactory and continues the series outstanding production quality and memoir.

*sigh* Where to initiate? When Interview with the Vampire (the movie) came out when I was in sixth grade, I was immediately bent, and I devoured the modern 4 Vampire Anecdote books one after the other. I fell in fancy with Lestat, I felt Louis’ injure…it was improbable. When I heard they were making a movie version of Queen of the Damned, I was jubilant, yet surprised, because The Vampire Lestat (book 2) is actually my well-liked of the series, and I would have liked to have seen that as a movie. Now begins my rant.
There’s plenty of things I could say about this movie doing no justice to the feel and/or deep and layered region of the book. However, since it is a movie and not the book, I’ll try not to accept that specific (i.e., Marius didn’t fabricate Lestat, but that doesn’t beget that distinguished of a dissimilarity…does it? ) What really [ticked] me off about this is that instead of taking one book’s region and trying to fully do and elaborate the fable, they shoved a bunch of [junk] into ninety minutes and made it loud, brilliant, and polished. And let’s not forget the kung fu.

1) I loved Tom Sail as Lestat, but…Stuart Townsend was hot. I’ll admit it. He played the novel Lestat quite well, and I’m willing to say that his hair is *dark* blond. That doesn’t quite invent up for his brown eyes, however.
2) Aaliyah. Not bad; she certainly looked pleasing, but what was up with that boring Hungarian accent? And she had basically no character development, which brings me to
3) NO CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT!! The only reason I recognized half of the “ancients” in the movie was by their costumes, because God forbid we should actually mention their names!!
4) Why did we have to have that humdrum “romance” [stuff]? Can’t we unprejudiced catch Lestat as being androgynous/bisexual and not give him a tiny teenybopper girlfriend?

5) This wasn’t even beneficial as a dreary archaic “vampire” movie. They frail the same crap we’ve seen hundreds of times before. “This is how you become a vampire. This is what you do as a vampire. I fancy you, but you’re a mortal. No, I cannot bring you into my world. Well, now that you’re dying, I guess I can.” And so on.
6) The soundtrack is rather well done.

So in closing, PLEASE, I implore you, do not deplorable your like/dislike of the Vampire Anecdote BOOKS on seeing this one film. As another reviewer said, READ THEM. READ THEM NOW. They are appealing. They are better than this movie. This movie is magnificent. But it is not estimable.
I mediate people went into this movie thinking that they would disapprove it. Especially some fans. I’m an Anne Rice fan and I’ll say this: it doesn’t follow the book completely, but I liked it quite a bit.
To sum it up, Queen of the Damned is actually made up of the second and third books of the Vampire Chronicals consisting of chunks from both Queen of the Damned and The Vampire Lestat. It may be called Queen of the Damned, and the posters focus on Akasha, but it really is about Lestat (which is what Queen was about anyway.)
I wasn’t positive if I was going to like this movie, but went into it with an begin mind. I liked Interview, but didn’t care for the choice of Tom (over the top) Sail as Lestat. The choice of Stewart Townsend was WELL casted as he slithers about reeking of sexuality, impartial like Lestat; too abominable he wasn’t the current choice for Interview.

In terms of the storyline, to incorporate or spoiled a movie on both books is a difficult task that can fail and unfortunately, it did in some areas. From reading the negative reviews about QOTD, too distinguished was incorporated into the storyline without explaining the background of each (i.e., Akasha is the first of the vampire bloodline and when her life ceases to exist, so do all the vampires created beneath her.) Stuff like this is never explained and anyone who has never read the books can understandably be confused.
I was more angry by seeing the characters I became so familiar with arrive to life, but we are only focusing on specific characters in this flick. Namely, Akasha, Marius, Lestat, Jesse and Maharet. All the others are show, but most of them don’t even have a single line. Vampires such as Mael, Armand and Pandora are reveal, but have such a little shroud presence that it is disappointing considering they had larger roles in the books. Also, the movie is heavily edited. In the beginning, when Lestat comes across the band “Satan’s Night Out” the shots go immediately from “You’re a Vampire? LOL!” to “Are you going to extinguish us? ” Obviously there was a chunk of conversation lop out from them to laugh at him and then be disquieted of him — it’s illogical. These are probably going to be on the DVD later. Methinks they should have obviously done two movies and both books, but the “need” for bang-em-up scenes led to skipping the second book and doing the third. Somewhat disappointing there as I feel the storyline suffered.
The storyline is choppy, but the visuals are impartial exquisite. We’re not talking Matrix-like effects of jumping and such, but imagery, setting the tone of the movie, sets and fair eyes… I really felt like I was seeing the world of vampires through theirs. It reminded me of a really expedient Goth video and I found myself really pulled in. On another mark, if you’re into heavier Korn-type music you will definitely accept a blast out of the soundtrack.
All in all, I was really joyful with this. I went into this movie shiny that to take the whole storyline would be impossible and conception that artistic licenses would be taken. With that in mind, any fan with this attitude would delight in this movie for the creation it’s become. Give it a shot — you might be surprised how distinguished you like it.

There is a point in “The Girl Next Door – Unrated Edition’ (which I received and promptly devoured, extra’s and all, in one sitting) where the movie is in trouble of changing in tone and focus from American Pie to Showgirls, but luckily for the movie – and viewers it recovers itself and ends in a clear teen comedy spirit.

I never saw this movie in the theater so I cannot comment on what has been added to this “unrated edition” but there is certainly quite a lot of nudity, but nothing enchanting the main actors. There are some graphoc scenes at a strip club (including lap dancing) and we earn shots of one of the main actors watching a porn video at home. There are some nude scenes from tedious of both distinguished actors Emile Hirsch and Elisha Cuthbert, but as Hirsch points out on Side B of the disc (where most of the extras are located) the movie feeble a stand-in for those shots.
I have a word of caution regarding the list of extra’s on the Amazon page. One is titled a scebne specific commentary bu Hirsch and Cuthbert. What we have here though is not a commentary for the whole movie from the two stars, but rather several scenes on the flip side of the disc in which the two actors both give separate commentary.

Largely (and unjustly) ignored at the box office this teen comedy starts of really well and within the first few moments had me rolling with laughter. The movie starts with a montage of sorts, we peruse the jocks, brains and cheerleader-types all stating, for their entry in the yearbook, what they “will always remember.”
Then there is Matt (played by Hirsch) who is pondering this expect. Determined, he has had a successful academic career – as illustrated by his acceptance to Georgetown – but he really hasn’t done anything memorable in his senior year of high school.
That’s about to change for Matt though with the arrival next door of Danielle (played by Cuthbert), who mplays a breathtaking beauty house sitting for his neighbors.
Entranced by her Matt is unable to discontinuance himself from watching Danielle undress in the window opposite his bedroom – but he is spotted. From that moment he is on a rollercoaster traipse. Danielle, amused and evidently attracted to Matt, shows him the excitement of living on the edge, from running naked through the streets to moonlight skinny dipping in his school principal’s pool.
Just as everything seems to be going so well between Matt and Danielle, Matt is apprehensive when one of his best friends Eli (who is a connoisseur of porn movies and elephantine of in-experienced sex advice) shows one of his porn movies – in which Danielle is the main star.
Foolishly following some of his friends advice, the two fragment company and moments later the movie changes tack and takes on a decidedly darker and more serious tone as Matt becomes sucked into the dark world of the pornographic movie industry. Initially charming and fine towards Matt, Danielle’s producer and one-time boyfriend Kelly (played well by Timothy Olyphant) turns violent and antagonistic towards the youth who has his mind place on getting Danielle out of the industry.
This all comes to boiling point when the sleazy producer drugs Matt and sets him up for a robbery.
What follows is both inventive and highly comical. How will Matt afford to pick up into Georgetown? What will become of Danielle? These are impartial some of the questions in this spellbinding movie that borrows heavily and liberally from a number of the John Hughes movies of the 1980s and the AMERICAN PIE movies of more new years. The movie ends on a high designate in a conclusion that is both satisfying and scrumptious.
Now onto the allotment that most readers of this review are more alive to in – the extra’s. On Side A of the disc we have an okay director’s commentary from director Luke Greenfield and an at times comical and at other times curious trivia track.
Then on Side B of the disc we have the aforementioned seven to eight scene specific commentaries from Hirsch and Cuthbert (Hirsch curiously has one more) and deleted and extended scenes with optional directors commentary. None of these scenes are of any particular value to anyone but completists or fans of the movie. They add nothing to the feature, but do have a curiosity factor to them. They also chose the better of the two endings also.
Of more interest is an droll featurette in which actor Chris Marquette (who plays Eli in the movie) poses as a porn producer and lures in all too alive to men (there’e a cute blonde on the bed afterall) who catch decidedly less involved (for the most piece) when the girl is replaced by a huge corpulent guy.
We are also offered a stills gallery and a VERY short gag reel as well as trailers for a couple of other like minded movies in addition to one promotional trailer for several other Fox titles. There is also a trailer for THE GIRL NEXT DOOR with the subtitle `Dirrrty,’ which in reality isn’t really that distinguished of a sizable deal.
All in all, this is a salubrious and inviting movie, it seems to lose its footing half arrangement through but successfully and engagingly returns to top make before the final credits roll. This is a sure must-buy for fans of the movie and the genre and certainly broad entertainment
I have seen this movie twice already, once at a rather unadvertised sneak preview and again at an advertised sneak preview. It is terrific! The best teen comdey to approach along since American Pie. It isn’t a gross-out comedy like a Farrelly Bros. movie or even the American Pie movies. It has a surprisingly believable storyline, unbiased gain past the central understanding of an ex-pornstar living next door and you can imagine these two falling for each other. The movie has a lot of heart, and is laughable in all the just places, with no cheap jokes. It doesn’t play down to the audience and in fact has a very radiant twist ending. The best movie to near this year so far, other than Eternal Sunshine, which is a vastly different type of movie.

Don’t expend your time comparing it to the book. If you objective sit there comparing the book and the movie, you’ll bewitch the fun out of the movie itself. If you are a book reader, reading Midnight Sun really helps understand Edward’s reactions and such. This is the best movie I’ve seen that has stayed the closest to the book as considerable as it could. I do understand why they made a few changes to please some of the moviegoers who haven’t read the book. It ties things in a different but acceptable contrivance. I loved how they interpreted the book. I understand that it was a teen movie so of course there was a runt cheesiness at times. But hey, the book is geared towards a teen audiences regardless of the wide age range that actually reads it. I consider Summit did a reliable job and can’t wait for Unique Moon.
I read the review the previous “wanna be” professional critic wrote and it’s a bunch of BS. This is by far a one of the best movies made. Can’t wait for Unique Moon. I’ve never read the books and I’m not a teenager. This isn’t theater, it’s entertainment. If you want theater, go to broadway. As for entertainment, it was big. I deem most of the nation will agree with me. I’ve comely mighty learned what the critics cherish, sucks. I mean really, how many awards did the movie “Sideways” regain? My husband and I watched it and ended up turning it off, it was by far one of the worst, most depressing, slow movies I’ve ever seen! I’ve learned if the critics abhor it, I’ll like it and vice versa. You won’t regret seeing this movie, it’s awesome.

I realize that I am most likely powerful older than their normal fan wrong. So that goes to demonstrate you that they can appeal to all ages. You don’t have to be a kid to like this band. You honest have to have a rebellious inch, like I do, at times. It definitely comes out when I sight or listen to this band. They are loud and fun.
The St. Patrick’s day concert alone is worth the retract of this dvd. Assume this dvd. You may be pleasantly surprised, like I was the first time that I heard this band.
This is the best band dvd i have ever seen in my life. the dropkick murphys are my approved band of all time. its honest so icy how they acquire what the pogues were doing and hold it to another level with the uncouth streetpunk guitar riffs. The concert footage of the St. Paddys Day concert is terrific, it really shows you how distinguished spirit and fun there is in going to a dkm concert. the music videos are gigantic as well, you can only spy the “gonna be a blackout” music video on the dvd that comes with blackout and this dvd. you cannot derive it anywhere on the internet. i also like the ‘black and gold’ documentary because it shows how dkm is loyally dedicated to the boston bruins. overall, this is impartial a colossal concert dvd and a mammoth collectors item for any dkm fan or streetpunk fan or impartial someone with lots of irish-american pride.

When I saw this point to on PBS assist in ‘85, I didn’t have a VCR, and after I got one, I looked forward to the day when the exhibit would be made available on tape. When it finally did become available, I was comely ticked to derive out that a third of it had been crop (who knows why) .
When the DVD came out, I was a bit reluctant to recall it because it was so inexpensive. I figured that all that had been done was to transfer the tape to DVD. But, for the money, why not? Tapes don’t last forever. So I went ahead and gave it a shot.
I am both surprised and ecstatic, therefore, to affirm that the DVD is in fact the complete broadcast, honest disquieted of 90 minutes, not unprejudiced a transfer of the tape, which is only 59 minutes, and the quality is everything you’d seek information from from a DVD.

Understand, though, as has been illustrious in other reviews, that this is called The Concert Years for a very pleasant reason: the emphasis is on Judy’s concert performances, not her movie roles. Therefore, there are very few movie clips. Likewise, this is not a biography, though there is a fairly liberal sprinkling of biographical material along with archival footage that you probably will not have seen elsewhere (such as her first appearance on film at age 7) .
Unfortunately, very cramped was filmed of her concerts. It is astonishing to me that, given the popularity of TV by the mid-fifties, it never occurred to anybody to acquire some of these performaces, not honest on television, but on broadway (imagine having a professional film of the Carnegie Hall performance) . Therefore, the “concert” footage conventional is mostly from her television reveal which, granted, did try to recreate to a big extent the concert experience and did accelerate during the middle of her concert years.
However, with only a couple of exceptions, whoever establish this together exercised trustworthy judgement and chose those performances which note Judy at her best, e.g., Ol’ Man River, Chicago, Smile, As Long As He Needs Me. And, yes, the DVD is worth buying fair to derive her “minute tramp” performance of Over The Rainbow, performed in concert.

The point of the whole thing is to prove how Judy performed in front of a live audience, and the DVD does unbiased that.
This is the right deal, all almost-90 minutes of it. And there’s stuff here you won’t rep anywhere else. Highly recommended.
Judy Garland’s legendary television series produced some of her best filmed performances. This collection of songs selected from the television series focuses on the material she most often performed in live concert. It shows Miss Garland at the very top of her form–excellent explain, well recorded, nicely filmed in shaded and white, and with the able assistance of her musical director with whom she worked for years. Judy seems satisfied and exasperated about her performances, arresting from up-tempo numbers to heart warming ballads in a method no one else has shown us. Unlike the television indicate, there is no “filler” here–just big performance after ample performance. It is a gift to lovers of mountainous singing that these filmed recordings exist. This video should be added to the collection of any admirer of Miss Garland’s work.
